Brian Day is a third generation Detroit native and award winning photographer who has been featured in exhibitions, television, print and online media around the world. He was awarded a Documenting Detroit Fellowship in 2016, and was a recipient of the Michigan Chronicle’s Men of Excellence award in 2017, which recognizes creative and influential personalities making a positive impact on the city of Detroit. In 2020, Day was commissioned by Apple to photograph a feature entitled, Hometown: Detroit

His acclaimed and award winning series Detroit From Above examines the urban landscape from an aerial perspective. The built environment becomes a concrete tapestry when viewed from above, and familiar landmarks become abstract, revealing the artistry of architecture and civil engineering.
